The Community outreach Program (COP), is a community section of the LIHACEI that takes lead in disease prevention through screening, health education on risk factors, prevention, early detection measures, and access to right treatment in Namutumba district and beyond. We conduct daily patient education, information and screening at our Out Patients’ Department and in community outreaches. The goal of COP is to reduce disease burden and risk by increasing access and utilization of disease prevention services.

This program strives to facilitate communities with knowledge in disease prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment so that they can be able to do first hand intervention in disease control and prevention.

Our objectives include:

  • To raise awareness on various diseases risk factors
  • To improve disease prevention
  • To increase early diagnosis of diseases
  • To improve adherence to treatment
